Barros Ruby Port NV
Barros Ruby Port is one of those Port's that are really moorish to drink. Deep ruby-red in colour, the wine is elegant and intense with heaps of black fruit on the nose. Strong and exubarent but with remarkable fresh fruit flavours. Superb to drink on it's own it's also delicious with most cheeses.
Established at the beginning of the century, Barros, Almeida and C0 - Vinhos S.A., is one of the most prestigious companies producing and trading in port. Nowadays, the Barros Group is composed of several companies acquired or established along the years. Is position on the port market is an important one (about 5% of total sales) producing in its Quintas up the Douro about 600 pipes of port. Barros Ports are appreciated all over the world.
Vinification
Vinification with extended maceration both in lagares and in wine vats. Fermentation was stopped by adding grape alcohol.
Viticulture
The vines are cultivated on terraces or platforms supported by the natural contours of the hillsides.
Tasting Note
Ruby colour with complex aromas of red berries. Very fresh, fruity and sweet with a balanced finish.
Everyday Serving Suggestion
Barros Ruby Port is best served at 15° to 18°C at the end of a meal or with cheese.
