San Marzano Negroamaro Il Pumo 2019 formerly known as Lucarelli Negroamaro
All Lucarelli wines were rebranded in 2013 as San Marzano to remove the confusion that existed in the UK market. San Marzano is a co-operative of over 1000 growers from the Puglia region of Italy. The Il Pumo Negroamaro has delightful plummy characteristics mixed with coffee and chocolate hints. The tannins are silky soft and this makes it an ideal wine to enjoy on its own or to have with pizza or pasta dishes.
Vinification
Maceration lasting 8 days with daily pumping over. Cool maceration and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then left to rest in steel tanks for 4 months followed by 2 months in bottle prior to release.
Viticulture
Cordon
