Bodegas Martinez La Orden A A Blanco Rioja 2016
The A A White Rioja from Bodegas Martinez is a superb example of white Rioja. Made with mostly Viura grapes and aged in new oak casks and stainless steel the wine takes on an amazing array of flavours and textures. The tripical fruit characteristics such as passion fruit and pineapple ensure this wine is delightful with most forms of shellfish and sea food. We tried some A A Blanco Rioja recently with Seafood Paella and it was delicious.
Martinez La Orden are producing some of the most cutting edge wines in Spain. They are fresh and vibrant with maverick winemaker, Jose Maria Martinez, striving to produce modern wines from his families old vineyards. Jose Maria constructed the first bioclimatic winery in Europe complete with solar pannels, gravity fed wine pumping and a comprehensive plan for reusing waste water reducing the winery's carbon footprint.
