Graciano is an old grape variety that the Spanish have keto to themselves for many years. It is often used in blending Rioja wines and to find a Rioja that is 100% Graciano is rare, especially one of this quality! The La Orden Graciano has clean mineral flavours with a structured yet delicate palate enhanced by subtle oak.
Martinez La Orden are producing some of the most cutting edge wines in Spain. They are fresh and vibrant with maverick winemaker, Jose Maria Martinez, striving to produce modern wines from his families old vineyards. Jose Maria constructed the first bioclimatic winery in Europe complete with solar pannels, gravity fed wine pumping and a comprehensive plan for reusing waste water reducing the winery's carbon footprint.
Cold fermentation and ageing in French oak barrels for 12 months. No fining agents were used during the winemaking process.
La Orden Graciano has savoury and vegetal flavours with a fruity cherry aroma, a hint of balsamic and plum on the finish. Great concentration of flavours and a subtle oak characters. A stylish Graciano with a fusion of balsamic, cherry and plum.
