Bove Avegiano Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2015
The Avegiano Montepulciano from Bove is a soft and approachable style of wine showing plum flavours combined with a little coconut and vanilla. It pairs wondefully with grilled lamb chops, stews and game dishes. This is a meeium bodied wine with soft integrated tannins that change when the wine is decanted, which we highly recommend.
Cantina Bove was established in 1930 and has since modernised the winery, which now boasts a high-tech bottling plant. The estate comprises 60 hectares of well situated vineyards and under the watchful eye of oenologist Dr Vittorio Festa, the vinification techniques ensure the production of the highest quality wines from low yields, with rigorous grape selection and refined ageing in oak barrels. The Bove style is to make well textured, mellow red wines showing good typicity and white wines that are fruity and full of character.
Vinification
The grapes were carefully selected in the vineyard. Extended skin maceration. Fermentation in temperature controlled tanks. The wine was aged for 4-6 months in 25HL oak casks followed by a further 4 months in bottle prior to release
Viticulture
Vines are Vertical Trellis trained.
Tasting Note
Red berries and wild strawberries with elegant notes of wood on the finish. A well-structured and harmonious red wine with a lingering finish.
