Chateau de Campuget Invitation Rosé wine 2020
The Invitation Rose wine from Chateau de Campuget is a fruity but serious Rosé showing bright berried fruit and fennel characters through to a crisp and lingering finish. This is the perfect summertime Rosé wine as it has lovely fresh flavours and a dry finish, it complements fresh salads or is perfect on its own with good friends on a warm summers day.
Costieres de Nimes, the easternmost appellation of the Languedoc, is effectively part of the Rhone since the climate, soil and topography are so similar to those just over the river in the southern Cotes-du-Rhone vineyards. The relatively uniform soils are marked by large pebbles on gentle, typically south-facing slopes. Chateau de Campuget is a top quality estate near Nimes with a long history. In its cellar, tradition and progress unite to provide aroma, finesse and bouquet. Chateau de Campuget deploys a wide range of traditional Rhone cepage to produce full, easy and spicy wines.
Vinification
This wine is made by draining off the vat. Colour is obtained through a short maceration of between 4 and 12 hours, according to the sort of grape. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks with the temperature-controlled at 18°C in order to extract the maximum aromas. After racking and filtration, the wine is immediately bottled at the Chateau.
Tasting Note
Lovely pink colour - a good weight for a Rose showing bright berried fruit through to a crisp and lingering finish.
