Chateau de Juge Cadillac half bottles 2011
Chateau de Juge Cadillac has concentrated apricot, honey comb and elderflower aromas which lead to flavours of fresh peaches and honey with balanced sweetness. This is a much more subtle dessert wine and is deleicious when served with stromng cheese like Gorgonzola or Goats cheese. Naturally it alsow is delightful with desserts but it is also superb to drink on its own as a palate cleanser or aperatif. This is a superb value for money dessert wine which is often overlooked but should be seriously considered.
The Medeville family runs this exceptional Domaine in the Cadillac region of Bordeaux. Olivier Medeville is an experienced winemaker with an international pedigree. His aim is to make modern, fruit-driven wines that represent excellent value for money
Vinification
All 3 varieties were matured separately in tanks for 12 months before being blended. The wine was then bottled 8 - 12 months later
Viticulture
The grapes were hand picked in 'waves' or different stages from the 38 year old vines where noble rot or botrytis was allowed to develop
Tasting Note
Shows great versatility with concentrated apricot, honeycomb and floral aromas, an unctuous palate, oozing with peaches and honey with refreshing acidity. A good all round dessert wine that's great value for money and almost identical in style to it's neighbours in Sauternes and Barsac
