Domaine Rene Monnier Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chenes 2013
Domaine Rene Monnier was founded in 1723. The Domaine is now in the hands of the tenth generation of the family who own 18 hectares of vineyards in the best crus of the Cote de Beaune, one of the largest privately owned Domaines in the region. Great attention is paid to limiting the yields in the vineyards. This guarantees the best possible quality of juice, with the correct balance between fruit and acidity. Rene Monnier's wines are well known in three star restaurants.
Aged for 16 months in French oak. One third of the wine was aged in new oak.
Lovely, fresh Pinot perfume of red fruits with spice and elegant discreet oak use with a rich and silky palate typical of the style of this prestige house.
