Gran Fondo Rosso d'Italia 2016 6 bottle case
These stylishly packaged modern wines evoke the very essence of modern, easy drinking Italian wines. Inspired by the Gran Fondos of Italy, the popular cycling events that weave their way through the scenic, coastal and vineyard-dotted landscapes of Italy, these wines are a blend of indigenous and classic varietals. The Gran Fondo duo is produced for us in a state-of-the-art winery, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. Meticulously blended they are superb examples of modern winemaking at its very best and offer wonderful value for money.
Vineyard
Guyot training is used on the vines with an average age of eight years.
Winemaking
The grapes were softly crushed and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at 16 to 17°C for aperiod of 14 days. The wine was then left to rest in tank until bottled.
Tasting Note
An interesting blend, the earthiness of the Sangiovese being perfectly balanced by the juiciness of the Merlot toproduce a fruit-laden easy drinking wine, but with enough back bone to accompany most foods. Very versatile.
