One of the major and largest vine growing businesses in Europe, Frescobaldi owns nine estates covering over 1,000 ha of vineyards, all located in excellent areas for fine wines. Directly managed by its family members, Frescobaldi produces almost 7 million bottles and the wines are exported to over 60 countries throughout the world. The Frescobaldi name goes back many centuries into the history of art, culture, trade and finance of Italy in general and Tuscany in particular. Vinification
The grapes were softly pressed. Fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for 12 days. Maceration lasted 20 days for the Merlot and 15 days for the Sangiovese. Malolactic fermentation took place in barriques immediately following alcoholic fermentation. The wine was aged for 14 months in new barriques.
Viticulture
Spur pruned cordon. High density planting with more than 5,800 vines per hectare. The vineyard was planted in 1993.
Tasting Note
A complex aromatic medley ranging from wild redberry fruits to hints of pungent clove, and finally concludes with nuances of lively menthol. The palate impresses with its velvety smoothness, appealing mouthfeel and concentration, and its long-lingering, silky finish.

Ideal with Spicy Tuscan stew.
