Reguengo de Melgaco Alvarinho Minho 2018
Reguengo de Melgaco Alvarinho Minho 12 bottles for the price of 10 special offer for a limited time and exclusive to Wineman
Reguengo de Melgaco is a historic property located in the village of Paderne. Commissioned by Queen Leonor in the 16th Century it was bought by its current owners in the 1990s who planted 9 hectares of vineyards across two different vineyard sites. They released their first vintage in 2001 quickly establishing themselves as benchmark Alvarinho producers. This aromatic variety has been well known domestically for centuries but it is only recently that Alvarinho is becoming more appreciated by consumers outside the domestic market. Alvarhino expresses its full potential in the Moncao sub-region showing aromatic complexity and a wonderful combination of fresh fruit and floral notes. Unique character, incomparable excellence, a real eye-opener!
Vinification
Grapes were transported to the winery, lightly pressed and fermented cool in stainless steel tanks at between 15 and 18 degrees. Selected yeasts were added to start the fermentation.
Viticulture
Low trellises with strict leaf canopy management to regulate the exposure of the grapes to the sun.
Tasting Note
Mineral notes combined with apple, plums and peach. A wonderfully fresh, fruity flavour with buttery tones through to a long and aromatic finish.
Everyday Serving Suggestion
A wonderful match for fresh seafood, shellfish or lightly seasoned grilled white fish. Or simply serve chilled as a refreshing apéritif.
