Schloss Johannisberg Riesling Silberlack 1st Growth 2015
Schloss Johannisberg in the Rheingau is a Landmark and meeting point of culture and wine growing. A top-ranking 35 ha single vineyard wine estate and a monument to the history of wine. Schloss Johannisberg is the oldest Riesling-Estate of the world (100% Riesling since 1720). It is the home of the quality designations for German wine, especially for Spatlese (late harvest - invented in 1775) but also for Auslese (selected harvest - in 1787) and Eiswein (wine from frozen grapes - in 1858). The wines have gained their reputation as belonging to the finest produced in Germany. Their elegance, fruit and flavour delight the connoisseur and consumer alike.
Vinification
Grapes are handpicked from the steep, south facing slopes of Domaine Schloss Joahnnisberg in Rheingau. These are pressed in whole clusters and fermented in old oak barrels for 6 weeks. They are then left on their lees for 7 months. Must weight 93 Oechsle.

Tasting Note
Elegant, pure nose that combines minerals and fresh fruits like grapefruit, peach and green apple. Good bite and freshness on the palate with a long finish.
Everyday Serving Suggestion
Between 11-12C as an apertif.
