South African White Wine Taster Case of 6 bottles
Here we have our superb selection of 6 bottles of white South African wines. This country is in dire need of support for the wine industry and here at Wineman we want to help in any way we can. The government has banned alcohol sales since Covid-19 began and this has had a knock on effect with every winery. They have suffered with international sales, export issues, restaurants, hotels and bar sales practically non existent and relying on people like me who sell their wines online to give them some sort of income.
The devastating effect on this industry is truly awful......so why not help these lovely people out and buy a case or two of their wines either from this selection or just any South African wines.
The whites taster case is made up of the following superb value white wines
From one of South Africa's oldest and most celebrated wineries comes the Groot Constantia Sauvignon Blanc. Classic Sauvignon with grassy, zippy, tropical fruit and a crisp, mineral finish.
From the troubled Lismore Estate owned by Samantha O'Keefe who has worked tirelessly to establish a brand new region in wine, this is remarkable in it's own right. Some evil rivals decided to set fire to her winery, however they didn't take her resilience and fight into account! Her Age of Grace Viognier is sublime and I am proud to list her wines and support this remarkable woman. 97/100 from Tim Aitken and 17/20 from Jancis Robinson.
The 'Steen Op Hout' Chenin Blanc is text book Chenin and shows why this is SA preferred white varietal. Delicious example.
For something different you will love the Grenache Blanc from Olifanstberg. Crisp, clean, long finish and a great wine. 93/100 Tim Aitken, 91/100 Decanter.
The Limited Edition Rousanne from Swartland Winery uses one of the grapes that is famous for white Chateauneuf du Pape. This is a rich and intense white wine that will make your taste buds sing with delight.
Finally we have the multi award winning Bush Vines Chenin Blanc from the Swartland Winery again. Quite possibly the best Chenin I've tasted in the last 2 years.
