Weingut Weegmuller Scheurebe Trocken 2015
The Schreurebe Trocken from Weingut Weegmuller is a superb white wine to serve with spicy asian cuisine. It's fragrant and spicy finish is dry and compex and it's a real delight to drink on it's own as well as with food.
Weegmüller are the oldest winemakers in the Palatinate region having made wine there for 300 years. They farm their vineyards organically and restrict yields to gain concentration and weight. Their wines are wonderful, rich and food friendly.
Vineyard
The grapes are produced in the outstanding vineyard sites of the Mittelhaardt. Almost 90% of Weingut Weegmuller's vineyards are located in the top classified region of Haardt. This district takes its name from the low-lying Haardt mountains, which play a vital role in the terroir here.
Winemaking
Harvested by hand when the grapes had reached optimal maturity, the juice was fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness and aromatic characteristics of the Sheurebe grape.
Tasting Note
This 100% Scheurebe wine is enticingly fragrant, with subtle hints of blood orange and spice. Refreshingly crisp on the palate, with a lifted, aromatic finish.
Serving Suggestion
A great match with lightly spiced Asian cuisine, melon with Parma ham, shellfish in a tomato based sauce and summer salads.
