Winemakers Reserve The Black Shiraz 2020 from Berton Vineyards
Winemakers Reserve The Black Shiraz is the latest wine from Bob Berton. This delightful Shiraz is sourced from the Padathway region of Australia with carefully selected grapes picked for optimum colour and quality. The flavours of blackberry, and dark cherry combine with the subtle oak obtained from a short time in cask. This oak ageing adds immense complexity to the wine and softens the tannins to produce a bold wine that also has a softer gentle side.
Winery Information: Berton Vineyards was established in 1996 by Bob and Cherie Berton in the rolling hills of the Eden Valley in South Eastern Australia. Their main winery is now based in Yenda in the Riverina Region and is now one of Australia's biggest producing wineries with awards from many different competitions.
Awards: James Halliday 4/5 2015 Awards
Tasting Notes: The Wine Makers Reserve Black Shiraz is a melting pot of plum, blackcurrant, dark cherry, mocha and integrated toasty oak.
Serving suggestion: We recommend Mushroom Paella with this fabulous Wine Makers Reserve Black Shiraz and is equally happy with Vegan Ratatouille.
Viticulture: Sourced from the sandy, loam soil of Padathway which are formed on old lagoon sediments. The vines are grown on single wire trellises and drip irrigation is used directly over the roots to ensure water supply and prevent evaporation.
